Dang There Sure Are Alot Of Nice Cars For Under $20k

So since last week's incident with buppy hitting my car, I have been looking on and off Craig's List for used cars.

Dang, if you need proof at how fast cars depreciate, go to Craig's List and just take a look at what a 2,3, or 4 year old car now goes for.

I couldn't believe it.

I even found an oh-so-pretty BMW 7 Series (current model style) for $30k!

That is a beautiful car; only $30k, what gives?

It's 4 years old (can't remember mileage) and well that's just amazing.

So I definitely will be buying used, preferably just 2-3 years old, but I think I may be ok with up to 5 years old (looks like cars really take a nosedive in value after 4-5 years).

Still leaning in the Acura direction, and maybe Lexus or Infiniti.

I am going to start getting some quotes though in the meantime to buff out the paint buppy left on my car, and to get rid of the scratch (it's not even a dent, more like a 1/8" deep scratch, on both door panels though...it took him that long to figure out he had hit someone.)

i'm suspecting why a lot of these cars are so cheap is that they've been in an accident or "salvage" title rather than a clean title (no accidents). i don't know about you. i rather take a used car that has never been in an accident than one that's been in one; this would prevent potential problems.

when you are serious about buying a car, i'd recommend to get a carfax report before you buy to ensure there aren't any problems with the car.

good luck with car hunting!

Times are getting tougher. I think it is not too hard to predict that people would resort to selling their expensive cars very early in the process.
